Kibworth Mead is committed to equal opportunities for all of our students. We strive to remove barriers to learning to ensure that all children can reach their full potential, whatever their special educational need or disability (SEND). The majority of pupils with SEND in our school are provided for within the class by slight adjustments to work, resources or teaching methods. Whilst we strive to be as inclusive as possible, we recognise that sometimes, to achieve their potential, students need different strategies, teaching styles or learning provision. The Headteacher, SENDCo, teachers and support staff work with parents and outside agencies to ensure the best approaches possible are used in order to support children with SEND.

To find out more detail about how we support our students at Kibworth Mead, please read the school SEND information report and SEND policy. To find out more about the Leicestershire County Council SEN offer, please click on the link below.

If you are concerned about your child, please do not hesitate to contact the form tutor in the first instance, who will discuss your child’s progress and ways in which you can help your child at home. If following this you feel the supported needs to be graduated then the tutor will support and working together an Early monitoring form can be completed and submitted to our SEND department.

If you have specific questions or need further advice after reading the policy and information report, please do not hesitate to contact the schools SENDCo, Mrs L Thornton, who can be contacted via the school office.
