The Internet is an increasingly important element in 21st century life for education, business and social interaction. The school has a duty to provide pupils with high-quality Internet access as part of their learning experience. Internet use is a part of the statutory curriculum and a necessary learning tool for staff and pupils. The school Internet access will be designed expressly for pupil use and will include filtering appropriate to the age of pupils.

The internet is amazing. Children can play, learn, create and connect – opening up a whole world of exciting possibilities. But with the digital world changing all the time, how can you make sure your child’s staying safe? It is not always easy to talk to your child about staying safe on line. So try the link below to help you start the conversation about staying safe online, and what to of if you’re worried about online safety.

Clear boundaries will be set for the appropriate use of the Internet and digital communications and discussed with staff and pupils.

Pupils will be educated in the effective use of the Internet in research, including the skills of knowledge location, retrieval and evaluation. This will be achieved via a series of e-safety lessons within the Year 7 ICT curriculum and also through regular assemblies using the latest CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection) materials, delivered by a CEOP trained member of Senior staff.
